SQL I/O Disk Subsystem Benchmarking

I need to benchmark some disk configuration for a new SQL cluster, I read the SQL Server 2000 I/O Basics Article (without understand everything ) and I'm also testing 2 utilities.

SQLIOStress is a tool that contains special patterns to detect stale-read/lost-write problems quickly.

SQLIO is a tool provided by Microsoft which can also be used to determine the I/O capacity of a given configuration.
