Linux Tips: Time and Date

A Windows System Administrator need sometimes to do some basic tasks on Linux boxes...

Today I would like to publish some tips about Time and Date.

To show the current time/date use the command: date
To synchronize with a specific NTP server use the command: ntpdate
To configure the NTP Daemon modify the file /etc/ntp.conf
To start the NTP Daemon use the command: ntpd -c /etc/ntp.conf
To verify the NTP Daemon use the command: ntpq -p
